New Instructor Spotlight! Meet Kylee

September 24, 2024

We thought it would be nice to introduce Kylee to our Tribe with an interview telling us everything about her as an instructor & individual! We are so excited to have her join us at Tribal and we know she is going to bring an amazing new & fresh energy to the studio!

So without further ado…

1. Hi Kylee! What inspired you to become a spin instructor, and how long have you been teaching?

A good friend of mine decided to open the first boutique spin studio in the area where I grew up. She approached me because she thought I would be a good fit as an instructor. Her passion for spin inspired me to take on the challenge. What kept me going for so long was the music and how I was free to create my classes and playlists, it’s a fun way to express yourself.
I have now been instructing now, for almost 8 years 🙃

2. If you could describe your teaching style in three words, what would they be?

Motivating. Inspired. Always Evolving.

3. What’s your go-to song or artist to get riders pumped up during a challenging climb?

This is such a tough one for me because I feel so passionate about so many artists/genres I love a t-swift banger but I also can’t resist a gritty EDM beat drop by an artist like Rezz or Apashe. I also love an unexpected remix from an artist like Fred again..

4. Outside of spinning, what other fitness activities do you enjoy?

I’ve always enjoyed running and have been painfully average at for about 12 years. I have instructed Ballet Barre in the past and enjoy that as well. Since moving to the UK I have made it a goal of mine to incorporate more strength training in my life, that is a focus of mine at the minute.

5. What’s the most valuable piece of advice you’d give to someone new to spin classes?

Find the beat with your feet first! Choreography is always optional and success in that comes with time. Listen to the music and keep moving, the biggest step is walking through the studio door.

6. If you could lead a spin class anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would teach absolutely anywhere with the right group of riders. No location/fancy studio could replace a genuinely good people vibe 🔥

7. What’s your favourite post-workout snack or meal?

Usually a protein smoothie – vanilla powder/avocado/banana/spinach/chia seeds/oat milk/cinnamon. 👌🏻

8. Can you share a funny or memorable moment you’ve experienced during a spin class?

So many!!!! One that sticks in my memory – I once kicked my computer off the stand during a stretch. (No one was hurt, not even the computer)
it was a moment that made me laugh until I cried (a few days later)

If you would like to attend one of Kylee’s classes, you can view our timetable here.
